Hamas issued a statement expressing condolences and solidarity with Hezbollah following reports of the death of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, along with other Hezbollah leaders.

The statement condemns the 'Israeli' airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs, describing it as a "cowardly terrorist act" and a "heinous crime" that further exposes the brutality of the Israeli Occupation.

Below is the full text of Hamas' statement:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate "Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration."

Statement of Condolence, Mourning, and Solidarity with the Brothers in Hezbollah and the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon Following the Martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and His Fellow Martyrs

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) mourns to the Palestinian people, the Arab and Islamic nation, and the free people of the world, the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, who ascended as a martyr along with a number of his fellow commanders during the Aqsa Typhoon battle, on the path to Jerusalem, in support of the Palestinian people and their heroic resistance against the Zionist enemy.

We extend our deepest condolences and solidarity to the brotherly Lebanese people, and to the brothers in Hezbollah and the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon.

We strongly condemn this barbaric Zionist aggression and the targeting of residential buildings in the southern suburbs of Beirut, an act that we consider a cowardly terrorist attack, a massacre, and a heinous crime. It once again proves the bloodthirstiness and savagery of this occupying entity, which disregards all international norms and laws, and now poses a blatant threat to international peace and security, in light of global silence and complicity.

As we mourn Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and his comrades with patience and acceptance, we recall with pride and admiration his life of sacrifice for the liberation of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque. His honorable stances supporting the Palestinian people, our heroic resistance, and our legitimate rights, and his insistence on continuing the heroic support of our people and resistance during the Al-Aqsa Flood battle, despite the magnitude of the sacrifices and the scale of the challenges, until he achieved martyrdom on the same path of support and endorsement for the Palestinian people and their heroic resistance.

We hold the Zionist occupation fully responsible for this heinous crime and its grave consequences for the security and stability of the region. We also hold the U.S. administration accountable for its continued political, military, and diplomatic support for this occupation, as well as its silence and failure to condemn or stop the escalating Zionist terrorism against the peoples of Palestine and Lebanon.

In light of this crime, we in Hamas renew our full solidarity and stand side by side with our brothers in Hezbollah and the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, who stand with our people and our resistance in the Al-Aqsa Flood battle, defending Al-Aqsa Mosque and the legitimate rights and aspirations of our people for freedom, independence, and self-determination. This is the path that all the vital forces of the nation, its people, and the free and honorable people of the world must unite around.

These pure bloods shed on the soil of Lebanon in the battle supporting our people and resistance during the Al-Aqsa Flood, as they mingle with the blood of the martyrs in the proud Gaza Strip, the steadfast West Bank, and Jerusalem, will become a curse that haunts this Zionist enemy, and will illuminate the path for our people and resistance, which knows no defeat or surrender.

History has proven that the resistance against the Zionist enemy, in all its factions and wherever it exists, whenever its leaders are martyred, will be succeeded by a generation of even more resilient leaders, more determined and steadfast in continuing the confrontation with this Zionist enemy until its defeat and removal from our lands and region.

We are confident that this crime, like all other crimes of the occupation and its assassinations, will only increase the determination and strength of the resistance in Lebanon and Palestine, propelling them forward with bravery and pride, on the path of the martyrs, in loyalty to their sacrifices, following their legacy, and continuing the resistance and steadfastness until victory and the defeat of the occupation.

May Allah have mercy on Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and his comrades, who ascended as martyrs on the path of liberating Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa in the ongoing Aqsa Typhoon battle. We ask Allah to grant them His vast mercy and forgiveness, to bestow patience and solace upon their families, comrades, and the brotherly Lebanese people.
We belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.
